Sorry copied and pasted from a different bit of the forum as I think it should be in here!
Hi,
our shower pump broke about 10 weeks ago it was a 3.3 bar pump, which we were told was much more powerful than we needed just for a shower. We ordered a new one described as 'quiet' which was 1.3 bar, and we were told should be adequate.
Plumber came and fitted it, we paid him £70. We discovered he had got hot and cold the wrong way round, the pressure was ridiculously low, it kept juddering/ stop and starting and it was insanely noisy. We complained to the people we bought the pump from, who after umpteen conversations said that the manufacturer could send a engineer but if it wasn't the pump, they would charge us £100
Friend's husband suggested turning the power off, running the water through (to force any air bubbles out) & when it was at the right temp turning the power back on, so husband swopped hot and cold pipes, we did as suggested and the pressure improved, it stopped and started less but still sometimes (the hotter the water temp the less this happens). He then came round and suggested it might be that the pipes were kinked. We bought new pipes (which took 3 attempts to get the right ones), husband fitted them, but it is now worse than ever, it only ceases juddering when it is very, very hot.
We have spoken to the plumber again, and after repeated calls back and forth he is now saying it might be the configuration of the pipes or that its just not powerful enough.
We enquired about getting money back via the credit card company, but you have to put it all in writing, it takes 8 weeks and if they don't find in your favour you're stuffed.
We are stuck between the plumber and the manufacturer. What on earth do we do, 10 weeks on we still don't have a functional shower.
Sorry this is so long, we are beyond frustrated and desperate for advice!! Thanks
