Washing machine mystery - anyone advise?

Has a stray sock got trapped in the filter somehow? My OH recently ruined a white silk shirt (plus several pairs of white knickers and a white and a cream bra) when washed with only white things. All came out with blue tinge, though the knickers and bras only the lace on them took up the colour. I suspect that somewhere in the innards of the machine is a sock that has got sucked in... Yeah, I know it sounds strange, but where do all those odd socks go to? He swears there was only whites in, but he's turned so many things pink in the past (including his own underpants! :rotfl: ) that I'm not sure how much to believe him. We're currently living between 2 houses while we get our old home ready to sell, and haven't had a washing machine in new house which is why he's been doing all the washing. Guess I should be glad that he's prepared to wash my clothes! (I'm disabled so it's hard for me to get to old home to wash things)

Anyway, here's hoping you can sort out the puzzle!
