Quick Quid ringing us up for someone who doesn't live here.

Hi.

I think a member of our family has taken out a Quick Quid loan. We keeping getting phone calls from them every other day asking to speak to the person in question, sometimes asking if we can pass on a message! !!!!!! its nothing to do with us.

The family member in question hasn't lived at this address for 25 years, but they have obviously used our number.

Is there anything we can do to stop Quick Quid ringing up our number all the time and leaving automated messages?

Can I complain to the Financial Ombudsman about this?

Cheers.

Cant see what the FO would do ?

Maybe ask the person who you think is using the number to stop doing so, maybe writing a letter to them would help

Why complain to the Financial Ombudsman? He can't stop your relative giving false address and telephone number to financial institutions.

Your issue is with your relative.

HOWEVER, I have found that (in similar situations), an email to the company in question, advising them that, unless they immediately cease and desist from attempting to contact this person using your address and phone number, that you will report them to the Police for harassment usually stops the calls and letters dead.

    Hi Getting_by.
It is definitely not our intention to contact an invalid number, but if it is the one given to us by the customer on the loan application than we have it on file. Please contact us at resolution at quickquid.co.uk and we will be sure to assist you in this matter.

    Thanks!

If a relative of mine did that to me I'd have no qualms with giving their current full address and telephone number to the creditor. They certainly wouldn't use my address and telephone number ever again!

Don't get mad at QuickQuid, get even with your relative!

    Hi Andrea. Hi QuickQuid.

Ok that seems very reasonable. We havent had any more calls for a while now, maybe the message sank in. Hopefully that is the end if the matter.

Poosmate - that is true but it's not as easy as that. It was my uncle that was getting the calls and his sister or her son that was taking the loans. I think my uncle was reluctant to drop his sister in it. I suppose it's a family thing. Family matters are never easy, they are always complicated on a personal level. Also, he didnt know their address at the time as they were never close, so don't keep in touch a lot.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Cheers.
