EDF "Customer Service"

Having given up after 40 minutes of listening to the inane EDF music they bore you to death with while they keep you waiting I presume EDF are still as bad at answering their phones as they have been most of this year.

Is there any time of day that you stand a better chance of actually talking to someone at EDF or doesn't it matter?

Try first thing in the morning, I always ring at this time and have never been waiting more than 10 mins or so.

I've phoned them 3 times in the last 5 months - every time at ~ 8:01am !! and got straight thru'
  • Not only EDF. EON seem to have taken the stance that if EDF can get away with it, they'll try too...

    Could always e-mail.

    Could always e-mail.

But the email route to EDF was even worse with replies taking 3 weeks or more earlier in the year:eek:
  • Right now edf are saying in autoreply acknowledgement up to 10 days to respond to email or messages through their website. (and it is at least that). But in my experience they often don't reply at all (2 examples), or if they do so partially or miss the point.

So eventually they email you a half baked response but the address used wont accept replies, so you have to email the standard customer service address and you then get another 10 day cycle.

It is really really awful and not fit for purpose

Hello EDF rep , are you there? Thought not

When I got through the other day following two e mails which were acknowledged but ignored, the CS Assistant told me that they currently had no chance of replying within ten days. In my case it had spanned around 25 working days and so he awarded a £20 goodwill payment.

They still couldn't answer my questions but that's the unsurprising bit. :rotfl:

Isn't the thread title an excellent example of an oxymoron?
