Returning two pairs of trousers ... do I stand a chance?

I purchased a pair of trousers from topshop, I am usually a size 10 but these are faux leather ones so I went for a size 12 so they weren't too tight. I am definitely not a fourteen so it's not that they're too small. I've worn them on nights out three times now. I noticed the other day that at the crotch the stitching is coming apart. I don't have the receipt for these any more but I paid for them by card along with another item. They were about £30-40 and I wanted them for the christmas period! I probably could wear them out but I'd be so worried of them completely splitting that I'm not sure it'd be worth it! I think I got them within the last month, maybe a little bit more and I'm pretty sure I paid for them on a store card.
I then have another item which is a pair of topshop jeans again, I got them in august but I've worn them less then ten times. Yesterday the zip just broke (zip has come off the track and actually snapped in half on one side). I know a pro seamstress so I can get them repaired if needed but at £45/pair I don't really want to pay to them them repaired. You can tell that they've barely been worn and they're hardly fit for purpose if they're going to break just like that. Once again no receipt but paid for on a store card. Would these fall under the 6month warranty? They're black jeans and are still black jeans, no fading which proves to me they've not been worn countless times.
The thing is, with all items I purchased them with other items as well so looking through statements the specific price isn't actually listed. I've also looked on the website and although ideally I just want them exchanging they don't do the items any more!
Any chance of getting a credit note? Refund etc?

topshop do a 6 month warranty? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

If you do decide to wear them and they split then it could be your lucky night .
On a slightly more serious note, take them back and see what Topshop say, I would think you'll get at least a credit note. And in future keep your receipts for at least 6 months to avoid the need to worry about proof of purchase (I've got receipts going back years, including for things that I've since thrown away, but I'm a bit OTT about that sort of thing).0 -
Id be interested to know how you get on as I bought a pair of topshop soft skinny jeans about 6 months ago that started to fray at the knee and then finally tore completely across the knee.
I was going to take them back but they have faded badly, They look more like 6 years old not months !
They cost £38 so I expect them to last longer than a few months !
A different store but I had to return a pillow to Asda as it went all lumpy after washing it, even though it was washable. They did agree to exchange it even without the receipt.0 -
its depend on the store policy and completely depend on them but i think if jeans is damaged or tored at your end, it will not be change.0
