New G&E supplier set DD too high

Hi folks,
Have just switched from Co-op Energy to Scottish Power for Gas and Electricity and have today found out that they have set my DD at £57 a month compared to my old Co-op which was £43 a month...
So considering that Scottish Power should be cheaper than co-op over the year, it looks like Scottish Power have set the DD way too high.
Has anyone else experienced this and would I get any mileage in ringing them up and getting them to reduce it, and threatening to cancel the transfer if they didn't?
Cheers

I'm afraid that judgeing your annual Utility costs by the amount you pay in Direct Debits ain't the way to do it
You must establish how many Kwh's of Gas & Elec you use a year and then apply those numbers to your suppliers tariff, only then can you decide if your Direct Debit is too low or too high0 -
