Sideboard peeling - 2 1/2 years old

My son has just stuck a rather large sticker (about the size of a coaster) on my sideboard which I then removed when I discovered it, about 5 minutes later.
When peeling it off I realised it has actually taken off some of the coating so I am not left with white patches in a fairly big area.
Is it worth calling Empire, the catalogue I bought it from or would they they just say to much time has past. I know 2 1/2 years is a long time but a sideboard isn't the sort of thing you replace after a couple of years or expect to develop a fault to develop so early on. I can't remember exact price but it was around £100 in the sale.
Any ideas ?
Thank

Your son put a sticker on it which you then peeled up. It's not a fault, it's not the manufacturers fault, its what happens when you put stickers on to wooden furniture.
Buy a touch up pen and move on.0 -

Yep, the coating on these type of sideboards is usually a think ironed on layer of a wood effect paper with a sticky back. They peel up very easily I'm afraid (been there worn that particular T shirt
)
Wilko's used to do like a wax crayon stick in various wood shades that you could use to touch it up, or just stick a nice vase over it.
If it happens again soak the offending sticker in WD40 and it should dissolve the glue making it easy to remove
