Annual Railcard or Travelcard?

Hi,
I normally buy an annual Rail ticket from Forest Hill (Zone 3) to London Terminals, but next year in April I will move to Brixton, which is in Zone 2.

I've asked what the cheapest option is at the train station, but they didn't know...

I'm thinking to buy an annual Travelcard for Zones 1-2 and then, from January to April, fill the gap between Forest Hill and Zone 2 by using my Oyster PAYG.
Does anybody know how much extra I would be charged for a peak journey?
Has anybody cheaper suggestions?

The current fare (which will go up in early January) is :

Brixton - London Terminals Annual Season £652-00
Brixton - London Zones 1&2 Annual Travelcard Season £1104-00

Both also act as Gold Cards, and the Travelcard option is of course available on an Oyster card as well as a paper ticket, and the Oyster card option will let you achieve what you want.

If you touch in at Forest Hill, and touch out at any Zone 1 or 2 National Rail station, your Travelcard will be taken into account and you will only be charged the cost of a Zone 3 single. The price of a Zone 3 single (on National Rail) is as follows:-
    • £1.60 Monday to Friday from 0630 to 0930 and from 1600 to 1900.
    • £1.40 At all other times including public holidays
(Sorry for the long delay answering here, if you ask on the site mentioned above you will get a comprehensive answer within an hour or less).

OK, quick correction to yorkie2's advice. If you touch in at Forest Hill you will be charged £1.60 peak next year if you touch out at London Bridge NR. If you touch out at London Bridge LU (after using Overground to Canada Water and then Jubilee) you will be charged £1.50 peak. The off-peak fares are both £1.40.
