Primus Home phone saver

Can anyone tell me the answers:

I'm looking at switching from BT to this. I phone Spain regularly using an override number. Can I still do this with Primus and is this the best way to do it?

Also to call mobiles through Primus, can i use the 18185 service shown on this website?

Thanks.

(1). Yes - see http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/spain/primus/easy (N.B. that indicates that one option is to use override provider 18185 and that use of the 18185 prefix is possible - but recent reports suggest that may no longer be the case).

(2). See above - I suspect that will only be possible using the more expensive 0808 1703703 freephone gateway number provided for those using non-BT lines.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. • Thank you so much. I don't understand what that 0808 number is you are referring to.

Also, do you think an overrride operator is the best way to go. At the moment I use crazytel where I load up a £1 each time rather than pay for each call. But I do seem to work my way through my £1 quite soon and I've noticed that BT have started charging me for their number even though it is an 0208 number and should be free.

The 0808 1 703 703 number is override provider 18185's freephone number - provided for use by those on lines on which the 18185 prefix cannot be used (i.e. almost anything except BT).

As you'll see HERE, the charges are higher in most cases but at least they avoid having to pay in advance or call charging starting before you're even halfway through dialling (as you have to with the numerous 0844 providers).
