Why are British insurance companies so much more expensive than elsewhere?

    Lets not kid ourselves that telling lies for personal gain is limited to corporations.

    nope, but the consequences if caught do vary,

    cancelled insurance, rejected claims and maybe prosecution if you're a consumer

    business as usual and maybe even a bail out or three to recycle into bonuses if you're an insurer/politician/banker

    But the difference is the majority of consumers are honest.
