thanks for posting that up - when i saw it at first thought it could be good since it uses a completely different technique for dyeing - but didn't have the facts to hand on it. So thanks for posting that.

Just come back to this thread as i was looking online to see if i could buy elumen and wondered if anyone else had found a stockist....haven't had a lot of time to look - but seems difficult to get over here .....

and now not sure I want it - LOL!

at the weekend i used Clairol nice n easy non-permanent, the weakest one.....i did a patch test first...which is still ok....left it on....but head itchy since putting it on my scalp....just proves the patch test is useless! (that said i'd advise people to do it because better to have a reaction to a small patch that a large area of skin...)

the wierd thing is i don't think i react to products containing ppd....or maybe i just haven't paid attention before. I get a itchy head often and put it down to sensitive skin like my father had....so really not sure.

but after clairol, the gentlest (and no ppd) has caused the itchies....I might have to go back to bog standard ppd containing products, cos don't remember being like this with them.....

and so far research for an alternative has been futile....thought elumen would be really good but now not so sure.

I've ordered naturetint permanent.....it felt good the last time i used it, don't remember any itching....(although that might be because i assumed it was the skin condition).....and it uses a very tiny amount of ppd....with no ammonia or resorcinol.

what else is there? sanotint...but that uses a relative of ppd that is likely just as bad....or henna...and have no idea with that! lol!
  • For the record though - i found clairol nice n easy, non permanent covers grey - all be it temporarily....so worth giving it a try especially as it's a lot less likely to cause allergies.
