    they would need a password and email address though to log into your account online.. wouldn't they? unless it was done over the phone?

    You don't need that to set up a new account which it seems has been done here. All you need with next is an Name and Address that will pass a credit check, no payment details are needed when placing the order.
  • I would have kept him talking while OH was phoning the police, these scammers cost companies so much money and in the end we all pay with higher prices :mad: :mad:

    I still think it's worth a call to the police to make them aware, so if it happens to anyone else and they were not as on the ball as you, when they contact the police at least there will be other recorded incidents.

    There is a scam for everything, sigh.

    yes we ordered something on next and the first payment page you get is a one offering to send the goods and they set you up with a store card to pay later, i just skipped this and paid by CC.
