    does he like nuts and dried fruit? (but check the fat and sugar content are ok with his diabetes). Low sugar digestives, lots of water, not too much fruit - veggies would be better. some scones would possibly be a nice change and as people have already suggested, rolls and crackers.

    Does he like cous cous? I make this for dinner in our house, then take any leftovers to work the next day, have also forgotten to take it and so took it 2 days later!! It tastes great cold and can be mixed with almost anything, they do a fragrant lemon/walnut & coriander one at work, and also one with chopped dried apricots with a slightly curry flavour, there's all sorts of things you can throw in it!!

    Oh and meant to say, when we are on the go we always pack things in old food containers eg Houmous tubs, then you can discard and not have to worry about transporting back your favourite Tupperware!!! ;)
