Can I have two seperate car insurance policies?

I currently have a Vectra, policy is in my name with my husband as a named driver. Im a few days away from putting my Clio back on the road so I can drive myself to work and back.

Can I have two policies in my name? Tried Admiral Multicar but as DH has a motoring conviction it won't accept us

Whats the cheapest way for me to insure both my cars, with DH still on the Vectra policy?

x

Yes, you can have as many policies as you want!

See if a local broker can help getting an introductory discount for you (as presumably you have no "old" NCD from previously insuring two cars on 2 separate policies)

Just to mention that depending on the nature of your husband's conviction, you may be limited as to who will insure you. Have you tried your existing insurers for the second car?

Does he have to be insured for the Clio?

No I don't need him insured for my Clio, that's only really to get me to work and back. He wants to be insured for it, but really, I don't see the need.

Tried my existing insurer, they wanted £48 a month for me alone on my Clio. I didn't even pay that when I first passed my test and bought the car!

Already tried Admiral Multi Car, they won't insure due to his convictions. People keep mentioning Tesco, they seem to be good prices x

Use the comparison sites, try with and without your husband as a named driver.

Also try swapping your policy to the Clio and get a new policy for the Vectra in his name as policy holder.

Compare, and choose the best option.
