Morning, could i join in too and have a lovely number for the challenge? :j
Have a jar ready and not sure about a target as i may have to use it during the year but let's go for £100 and see what happens:D
In the jar atm there is £14, that's better than i expected, £86 to go:rotfl:Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs
One Poll: £3.20
My Survey: £0.00
Ebay: £0.000 -
Happy new year!!! I hope everyone also had a good Christmas? Ours was amazing! It was our first Christmas with our first baby, which we thought we'd never have!!!
Another £8 for my tin! That's £16 altogether now. I think I may reach my target quite easily! I have 8/25 coins so that's only 17 coins to go!!!
Observer - You're premonitions are fab! I really think that this year we won't need to dip in. Plus I have a sealed tin now which makes it harder to just dip in.
I do think it's awkward to try and do monthly/six monthly totals as everyone has their own way of doing it. I keep my totals in my signature as I like to see the amount building up. But I may find when I open the tin again there could be more as dh sometimes puts them in the tin without me knowing!
There's some greats totals to start off the year! Welcome to all the newbies and happy saving!0 -
Hi
I went to my Mums yesterday and she gave me a sealed tin that can only be opened with a tin opener. I have put my £2 coins in there so I will probably lose count but I have £20 in ther so far.0 -
hay77 i had one of those tins started it in july and opened it new years eve to find i had saved £94 in loose change. Have started another tin for loose change which i will open 30/6/12 and one tin for the £2 coins, but i never seem to have many of them, but let see what happens.c:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

My dd2 bought me and OH one of those lovely ceramic "dream fund" pots from clinton cards for christmas. It says that when full it can hold £1k in £2 coins, so we are trying for that. We hope to renew our vows valentines day 2014 (10 yrs) so am saving especially for that.
On another note for years I have kept a separate pot in which I pop in money Ive found on the pavements. My Dad used to do it, I used to be embarrassed. now I don't give a **it! and my kids are embarrassed by me. Hey ho... Anyway until I joined MSE it was known as mum's angel pennies, MSE call it "roadkill" don't they? , its still angel pennies to me. Anyway, just counted it and for all of 2011 my angel pennies amounted to £17.17.
Also have today bought my first savings stamps in Asda £2 a week. That'll pay for next year's choccy/boozy extras.
This is the year I am going to be organised (still in debt) but organised debt is better than Ive managed so far.
Also am doing the £10 a day challenge quietly (Nov & Dec weren't that good).Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x
My alphabet-girls are with me every step of the way x0 -
Wow! It's nice to see people are doing so well
I have yet to come across a £2 coin. Until I signed up to this challenge I seemed to always have a purse full of them.. typical!Sealed Pot Challenge 5 #1562
