  • Morning Everyone,

Well I had to raid my £2 jar :o Traffic was horrendous just before payday and we literally had nothing left - usually we survive on £20 a week however the week before Christmas saw us eat away £35 worth - with days and days sat in traffic .... I did add 1 more over the festives but down to £12 now ....

We are out this weekend for the new years celebrations, next weekend for an 18th birthday and weekend after for a meal so fingers crossed more find there way into my purse :)

On a very big plus - we managed fine this month without borrowing and we paid a chunk back so all in all I am very happy that I seem to be moving in the right drection :T FINALLY!! All thanks to Martin!!

Hope the £2 is adding up nicely for everyone.
    Busybee xx

  • Morning everyone,

I hope you are all having a fab time?

£2 coin safely in the pot courtesy of DH :)

Hello to the new savers, welcome to the club.

    Happy saving :) x
  • Hi

Please can I have a number for this savers club? I think what ever number I am allocated will be my target..... and whatever I save will be spent on a weekend away (alone, away from dependants, children and dog!) for hubby and me. Hope its a high number as I'm naturally more of a glamper than a camper!

    Thanks

  • Hiya please add me to this challenge for 2012! I will do my best not to dip into the pot until next Dec - havent managed it in any previous year so far! Aiming for approx one coin a week so target for the year £100 :D
    2019 will be my year!!
  • Hello there everyone!

Hope everyone is having a good last few 2011 days :) I was back at work today but I'm off again tomorrow, how is that for planning :D

I realise I forgot to change my sig for the £2 I declared the other day, so I will do that now, as well as adding on the other 2 I have acquired :j

Firstly I'm dead impressed how many newbies this thread seems to be attracting! Welcome to you all :) I hope you enjoy being part of MSE and especially this little thread. We are all very friendly even if I do say so myself :A and I hope we help you with your saving motivation just as you will come on and help us with ours :D Awww one big happy saving family lol :rotfl:

    Anyway......

Hello :hello:to mightyroyals, starhut, millymolly, linzight, hollysmum22, kylieminoag, jacci45 and kayleighpea!! Welcome to the thread :T If you haven't already please have a glance at the first post of the thread, and give me a minute or two and I will have updated post two with your numbers and targets.

Its nice to see we have converted you from a lurker starhut, its much more fun posting occassionally too! And millymolly (I have to confess that I was dying to put mandy then aswell ha ha sorry! :o) wow what a fab total last time - a lot to live up to now with a precedent set!

Kylieminoag you do realise that means I am sooooo tempted to give you a number like 689?! I'll add you last just to keep the inspiration rolling.

Congrats to the rest of you finding coins: Thebees, mandz1, PMo2, and wannabee_in_credit. And WBIC wow you have had a busy few days. Shame about the car but I am sure the other event more than made up for that. Congrats on your neice.

*Peridot* - Cupcake? Muffin? Any hope of a pic?! The bigger it is the more savings it will hold :A

Hi Busybee. Just be grateful that the pot was there to raid when you needed it. If you normally manage on £20 I'm impressed! And you have saved that money knowing one day you WILL need it so no worries about having 'broken' in. Hope things settle down a little after the new year.

Apologies for the long post! Yet again, watch the windy weather, we don't want anyone blown away :D. Good luck to you all with your saving.

(P.S. please excuse any absences from myself as I'm still having internet issues :( I'm hoping its just a busy network thing with all the kids still off school :))

  • Hi everyone :) Can I join you all in this challenge?

I started saving £2 coins last year which then turned into a bit of an addiction and I found myself buying them from the till at work :o Despite being skint at times, it paid for a language course I really wanted so it's definitely a great way to save :D

  • Thanks for my number.... 82. I've decided if thats to be the target I will keep the challenge strong by saying its 82 coins not 82 pounds. That way, we might be able to venture beyond Bradford.....

His birthday is September - it would be so lovely to whisk him away on a surprise weekend. Will start searching for bargains...
