Gas Card

I've just moved into a flat where the gas is paid through topping up a British Gas gas card in the local shop. I have never done this before. When I moved in just 17 days ago I put on £49 (it was the most I could put on the card) and there was already about £6 on the card from the previous tenents. I checked today and there is only £11 left....can this be right!? Thank you for any help/advice on this! x

Yes, if you think about it it's about £2 a dayish and I imagine the heating is on, as well as normal hotwater usage. This would be classed as low usage at this time of year, it is not unusual for people at this time of year to use £80+ a month. If you've got real concerns speak to BG about having a credit meter installed so you can pay mdd0
