last year built up £500 credit on gas, just been advised they wish to increase DD from 200 to 300 per month. Apparently they as a business cannot access the or benefit from the monies paid to them as they are paid into a " interest free bank account and the monies are protected ". Apparently although the DD are supposed to spread the cost over the year they suggested they might reduce the payments in spring when useage reduces ?? so whats the point of "spreading the cost". mmmmmmm

We have had a few threads on the DD recently.

You say you had a credit balance last year. Have you got a credit now ready for the winter bills because a jump of £100 per month is quite a lot.

Is the account billed up to accurate readings and is the balance after the bill date a credit?
