Problems with buyer continue... 2nd case opened!

I posted a couple of weeks ago about a buyer who had claimed an INR case against me on Ebay.
This buyer had bought something else and paid separately. Alarm bells rang straight away as there were several odd things about this buyer.
Although I was in touch with 8 other sellers in the same situation as me in the end Ebay did not back me and I had to refund.

Well today she has opened another INR on me for the other item, this time in paypal.

What can I do?! Do Ebay and paypal communicate?! I understand that she has 20 days to escalate. There is no point me escalating as I only have a standard POP.

  • Well I have been on the phone to Ebay CS and they said that basically the buyer in question is now being investigated, but even if she gets suspended I still have to refund her as she has opened a case in Paypal.
Does that mean that she can still open INR's on every single Ebay purchase she has made?
Ebay said that there was nothing they could do, however they have waived my shop subscription for one month - £14.99.
Not much but it's something I guess.
So the real losers here are Royal Mail as far as I can see.
As for the buyer, it's a win win situation, Christmas presents sorted!
I am obviously in the wrong business!

    Rant over!

Should have sent it tracked. I would have blocked the buyer instantly if i suspected them to be dodgy.

I don't send tracked if it's under £46. The value of the items to me came to less than that.
And she bought my 3 items within a couple of days of each other, paid separately though.
I could not know then that she was a scammer!
And the seller who did send tracked, well she claimed the box arrived empty! He lost that case as well.

Sounds like you have been very unlucky. Might be worth appealing the paypal case when you lose it, probably won't work but at least you tried.

    too many comps..not enough time!

not very good advice, you can't send everything tracked on ebay, particularly low cost items, you either won't sell because you are too expensive, or buyers will mark your DRS down.

How many items would you sell and send untracked to a buyer that has claimed an item was not received?

Me personally it would be once and then block them.

I certainly wouldnt give them a 2nd chance at doing it.

Because she bought the items in separate transactions over the weekend, and paid for them separately on the same day - so I posted them together and gave her a discount on postage!

And when I got the first INR for one item and not the other, after only a few days, and did a bit of digging, I came across plenty of evidence that it was a scam. The 2nd INR has followed much much later.
  • Hi,
paypal show no mercy to sellers, all buyer protection, i sold a lot of items (102) in 2 days and had 1 item not received dispute and they froze my account with the money in, they say it could remain frozen for 180 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
