I see you're new. I hope this might help: I think you would have worded your post a little better if you'd read backwards in the thread to see what others had written.

    Just trying to help :)

According to Supermarket Own Brand Guide Co-op's Fairtrade Mulled Wine Sachet beats all the other mulled wine mixes. Not exactly sure how much these are now though was around £1.59.

The sachet contains: ginger, cloves and cinnamon sticks. It suggests you mix the contents with 150g of Demerara sugar and 400ml of water, bring to the boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes then add two bottles of red wine. Two bottles of wine? Hick!!

You could also try Delia’s recipe as well.

Buy the cheapest and most God-awful red biddy you can lay your hands on and follow any recipe for mulled wine/Gluhwein and I'll guarantee you never buy it made up again.
I agree with this! Shop bought mulled wine tastes like socks (I have not tasted socks, but if I ever do I can guarantee this is what they will taste like) but I just made my own and it's lovely.

I used cheap Spanish red wine and the Schwartz sachets.
