SAGA Dirty Tricks Car Insurance Fees

Options
I've just sold my car mid term of my car insurance and they are charging me £50 for administration fees to cancel the policy!! I know they probably told me about the charges etc in the paperwork and over the phone when I rang them to start the policy but I feel this is a covert dirty trick that the underwriters have cleverly thought up to get unnecessary extra money from us. All it takes from them is a few clicks of the mouse to cancel the policy. It's not as if they are going to take ages and ages sorting out my details! I've just emailed Watchdog about this. Next time I compare car insurance I will be forced to make a point of asking each and every one of them which admin fees they charge and how much, and if so I will have to tell them that I am boycotting them. The other thing SAGA do is delay the cancellation of your policy if you make any additional notes or markings outside of the tick boxes and date fields on the Certificate of Insurance that needs to be sent back. The tick box is so so tiny it is almost impossible to produce a legible tick mark inside without touching the border of the box!!! Another Dirty Trick to stall paying out any outstanding balance to the customer.

If you opt for the cheaper mainstream insurance policies, then expect to have to pay admin charges, it is fairly standard practice.

If you do not want to pay admin fees, then pay the higher premium for a policy of that type.

    The choice is yours. ;)

Not sure about the tick box thingy ?

If they told you about it beforehand how could it be "covert"?
