As I have said on previous similar threads, stop all texting etc. and put this in writing.
Go through the 3 letter process - the final being a 7 day letter.
After that, just issue a claim via the on-line service. When this official document drops through the door she might change her mind.
Once you start the process you do not need to go through with it - you can stop at any time, so can be good to use to "call her bluff".
If it did go to court, do you seriously think that she would deny all knowledge of this work ?
Also, I presume that she is a homeowner - these days people are more aware of their credit file and she will not want a ccj on her file.0 -
Thank you. I'll get the letter done asap0

Would she reply to a text? Wondering if he could word a text so that her reply will confirm the arrangement.0

I really don't know. Although after the earlier conversation she's sent OH a text saying Ill give you £400 if you finish. That's less than half what was originally agreed.
Erm I think not.
As ACC72 advised we won't be communication now through anything other than letters now so he's having to ignore her.0 -

Make sure you save that text and either get somebody independent to witness it or take a photo of the phone displaying the message.
Could help if she tries to deny having the job done!0 -

But to answer your question yes I do it and have done so for the last few years.
I only meant it as it means she might have a hold on him [ie threaten to report him]....but if that's the case then no worries. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Years ago my dad built our neighbour a small extension to his house and then the neighbour knocked him for payment.
The old man just smashed it down a few months later and the police didn't want to know when they were called by the neighbour.
Pity your OH can't get access to do this.
However, he could still go down the legal route to get payment.0 -
This just get weirder and weirder :S
Does anyone know if it's possible to 'rent' an alternative address rather than using our home address? Costs involved? For various reasons I'm not happy for OH to include our home address on his invoice.
Any more help much appreciated0
