Saved £20 on AA membership renewal

I've just managed to get nearly £20 off my annual AA membership by ringing them up and challenging the price of the automatic renewal.

Like most companies, they know most people won't challenge it. Doesn't make me feel any loyalty to the company.

You can save a hell of alot more than £20 on most AA policies if you insist on getting the cheapest new customer rate for your policy level
  • Try The Green Insurance Company. I use them. Full cover for £38.
Your car must be younger than 5 years old and you must be over 35 years old. then you will qualify for 75% discount.

I recently had to actually use them for a blow-out on a motorway. The level of service was fantastic. Regular phone calls from them whilst waiting for help. If they dont get to you within 40 mins, you get £10 cashback.

Well worth a look if you meet the criteria.

    Well done.
I saved over £200. By not paying it and moving to Flux Rescue instead.

Are you less likely to break down if you are older?

    What a weird rule.
  • Dunno - But its a cheap way of getting breakdown cover.

As previously stated, I have had to use the cover and the service given was 10 out of 10.

I got AA cover for free including Home Start. Apparently 12 months free AA cover is automatically given to people who have their cars serviced at Ford dealerships. So now I have both RAC and AA cover and its still cost me nothing.

While that's a good offer, does it say anything about the expectations Ford have of their own servicing? ;)

I got my AA renewal more than halved. It was due for renewal in Aug, came in at £122 or there abouts, I rang and said I was fed up paying for all the new customer deals, I'd been with for 12 yrs and loyalty wasn't paying and I was going elsewhere, they renewed for £55.
