Dead ivy in the wall cavity

Following a survey by my energy supplier It appears that I can't put a wall cavity insulation as one of the external walls had Ivy growing on it (was killed many years ago by the previous owner), the Ivy managed to send itself all around the cavity which means any insulation inserted there will have Ivy bridges in it.
Is there any other way to get the walls insulated?

With this very specific kind of problem, you are probably better speaking to a bespoke contractor for a second opinion, possibly via links from the energy saving trust website.
My pure guess is that unless the ivy is removed (probably impossible) you either have partial cavity insulation (bridges accepted) or leave as is.
I think I read somewhere that you can line walls inside the building (as they would with old builings with solid walls) but it will cost space and won't be cheap.0
