hidden extra's on top of mortgage

now then,
This is probably a 'how long is a piece of string' question, but i'm sure someone can give me a ball park figure here.

If i was to pick up a mortage for 100k my monthly payments work out to be £625
Now, i can just about cover that, but after coming from a renting environment where everything was pretty much included for about £300 i am unsure of the other costs i need to factor in.

therefore could anyone give me a rough outline of my extra billls such as building insurance, council tax ( band A ) , ultility bills etc.. probably lots of others iv'e missed too.

Thanks guys

    Have you not asked the previous owners? Maybe the estate agents will have some info.
    Have a look at people's SOA's on the DFW board.

    We (just the 2 of us) live in a 3 bed semi and our bills are approx as follows:
    elec = £25 pcm
    gas = £25 pcm
    Water rates = £23 pcm
    TV Licence = £11 pcm
    Total cost of home ins = £16 pcm
    Life Ins = check online quotes
    Phone Bills (approx £20 pcm for BT basic package)
    Broadband bills (approx £15 pcm but can do all sorts of deals on this along with your phone etc)
    Councuil tax - you can look this up on the council web site or ask the estate agents

    I think that would cover your basics.

    Make sure you also put away a bit each month to cover the "unexpected emergencies" which DO arise, and as the owner, you need to repair.
