Baby Bonds

My daughter is coming up on 6 months old and I really want to set up a baby bond for her so that she will get some money when she is 18 and needs it!
I have looked around at different adverts but other than various offers of high street vouchers or teddy bears they are not forth coming with information about the bond and its security.
Has anyone else set one up? Can anyone recommend an actual company? Are these worth setting up at all?
??? :-/ ???

Thank you, I've requested an information pack from a company that won the Parent Friendly Award with Tommys in 2004. Seems like a good start for a recommendation. I'm afraid most of the information is either so basic you don't know what you are dealing with or so complex it goes right over my head... ???

I'll look forward to some more bedtime reading ;D

    you're welcome, good luck.
  • These products are endowments and tend to have high charges. Take a look at this article:

As an alternative may I suggest taking a look at one of the Investment Trusts available for children such as Jump:

Did you not invest your £250 Child Trust Fund money, you should have got details when your baby was born. You have so long to invest it, or the Government invest it on your behalf!

If you Google Child Trust Fund, lots of websites come up with options for investing.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: There’s an article on the main site you might like to read that gives more information on this subject.

Also there's already a discussion about this, so

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
