Could't agree more.
I'm as much for lightening the things up as the next guy, but it is starting to wear a little bit thin with some posters who are hijacking most posts for no other reason but to amuse themselves.
Whereas some OP are very obviously not being serious with their questions and therefore are really asking and expecting mockery, there are OP who come here because they need and expect help.
It is therefore very sad to see their trust abused by people who see this forum as their own little "stand up" stage.
There's a place and a time for everything, so without any disrespect to those long standing regulars, it would be nice to remind ourselves that serious questions do demand serious answers...

Sorry to hear about that Suljka......I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0

It doesn't surprise me to be proved right and I am very sorry for the OP. It's the way these people operate -- self interest before anybody else's. If you think your offer could be higher, it may be worth trying to get to the seller directly even at this stage.Je suis sabot...0 -

It doesn't surprise me either - exactly as suspected... tis' all a game with a single aim of getting 'Mr-Developer-Friend-Who-Lines-Mr EA-Pockets' to get a property for next to nothing... And to those who might object the above statement, yes, it is possible that the developer has offered more... it is possible that the EA has send me the text about the other offer that somehow failed to find its way to my phone... it is also possible that they really were unavailable for all this time to answer my phone calls... it is also possible that they are simply incompetent rather than cunning and deceitful... and it is also possible that one day pigs might fly!! In the meantime it is much more likely that developers offer was much more lucrative to the EA, meaning it needn't necessarily be a best one for the seller, if you get my point!! Number of posts revolving around the issue of 'what games is EA playing' are just a tad too frequent for it all to be just a pure coincidence, when in reality all EA are really just doing their job, best they can, right?
Well if doing their job means ensuring they get most money for themselves, using whatever means possible and regardless of seller's (or buyer's) best interest, than by all means, job well done!!
Sincerest apologies for any offence caused by the above statements to all good EA out there, all... of them.
It is all just a coincidence. All of it...
We've been looking for a property for a while and every single time a property with a more realistic price tag came on a market that had a 'potential', some kind of cat and mouse game ensues with the EA... it is not available for viewing, it is blah blah whatever... and then bam, surprise, surprise, it goes to the developer. Month later you check sold prices and the above mentioned realistically priced property has sold for next to nothing. Why, you might ask, it is to be expected - it is the attraction of a cash buyer, isn't it?! Huh, at the cost of tens of thousands of ££ to the seller?! Call me sceptical, but somehow I doubt the seller would find attraction of cash buyer that high?! Especially when the cash buyer quite often isn't really a cash buyer at all, though they might not need a mortgage they quite often still need time to 'release the funds' and that can drag on and on and on. Realistically those property are probably worth more than they sell for and a non-developer would have probably paid more for it, only they rarely are ever given the chance.
Sorry about the rant, had to went my frustration somewhere! And I have a worst flu ever which isn't helping the matters... being all blocked up is only making me that much more angry - it is making a task of writing that sensible and diplomatic offer/complaint letter near impossible. All I mustered so far is...
Dear EA,
Go f*** yourself you f****** sh**** w***** ...
********
****
Sincerely,
Your worst f****** nightmare
Anger aside, I am even more certain that there was some foul play going on in the background with this one, so I'll most definitely be putting that offer in writing and making sure it is signed, sealed and delivered! According to codes of practice the EA are obliged to pass on the offers even when the property is Under offer, unless they have received a written notice from the seller to ask them not to (and if that's the card EA wants to play I'll demand to see the evidence).
If they thought I was a nightmare buyer before, they'll get their confirmation in writing to that effect as well.
They wanted to play games, huh, well they'll get a full bloody Warcraft or whatever is called!!
That is they'll get their bloody Warcraft as soon as this player is able to shake off the worse of this damn flu - any original suggestions there?Don't get mad, get even :A0 -

As it has gone under offer, don't bother with the agent, just deal with the seller. You are right, it is foul play. It is a waste of time dealing with the agent. Where does this particular EA sit in the pecking order in this branch? How many branches are there and how close (not close as in distance) to the head office is this one? What is the relationship between this staff member and the people at the top?
Do the big bosses know what might be going on in their organisation? Would they sanction it if they did?
I'd be looking at these questions and wondering if going to the top to make my offer and air my suspicions might be worthwhile.0 -

I don't know, I thought he employed it rather well :rotfl:0 -
I do think that if you really want the property you must try to contact the vendor without the interference of the EA.Je suis sabot...0
