car insurance cancellation by an insurance company

Hi
could you please help me with my situation?

My husband insured a car by a certain insurance company 1.5 months ago. He informed them that he had four years no claim discount entitlement from a foreign insurer.
Thе insurance company asked him to provide them with proof of his no claim discount entitlement from his last foreign insurer. My husband informed them that last four years he did not drive his own car but he was the only driver who drove a company's car for business and commuting. During that period no claim has been reported.
The insurance company agreed that he would provide them with confirmation letter of no claim discount entitlement signed by foreign company he worked for.
My husband sent out the confirmation letter to the insurance company in an envelope provided by them 3 weeks ago. And two days ago we received a letter from them that they did not receive his conformation letter and he would need to pay an additional premium (about 600 pounds) for car insurance. If he does not pay for two weeks they will cancel his certificate.

What should my husband do in that case?
Regards

As I understand it not all insurers will accept no claims from a company car?

Presumably the foreign company your husband worked for was the policyholder.

If so, then your husband does not hold 4 years "No Claims Discount", (NCD is earned by policyholders).

Whatever you do over this issue, do not leave this till they cancel the policy! (This will mean he has to disclose a cancelled policy on his record to all other insurers, and won't find it easy to get covered at a reasonable price!)
