Negotiated better deal direct with energy supplier??

Has anyone managed to speak directly to their energy supplier and negotiated a better deal on threatening to change supplier (bit like the old Sky tv package trick)

My EDF Online Saver V7 tariff ends 31Dec11 and all other suppliers on the energy switching search engines are coming at ave £100 more expensive for dual fuel package

We are a high use household w annual kwh usage at 6800 electricity and 38,000 gas

Im willing to give it a go by getting in touch with EDF and challenge them to price match the same deal that comes top on the energy price omparison - first utiliy - which comes in at only £50 more expensive than my current tariff.

I will obviously mention that i wont hesistate to change supplier since in all honesty the energy suppliers are "the !!!!!" and the manner in which the public consumer is being held hostage with complicated tariffs that are far from transparent / ridiculous increases in tariffs which are unjustified is totally unacceptable especially in the current economic climate

Any views and experiences are welcome and will keep everyone updated on how i got on with EDF

With computerised accounts there is no possibility of them or any utility company, creating a special 'wookie66' tariff and/or the million variations it would require if they made you an exception. Even their staff don't get a bespoke tariff.

P.S. You have only activated the swear filter, which happens even if you mention that you went on a day trip to that Linclonshire seaside resort called S!!!!hoprpe! i.e. any string of letters that make up a swear word is detected. Write - Scun*thorpe
