Problems with second hand car

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help with this please (and that I've posted in the right area!)

I bought a 7 year old car for £2990 3 months ago from a used car dealer. Since then the car has been back to the garage 4 times because it has been losing oil. I've been without it for about 4 weeks out of the 12 I've had it. I paid the £500 deposit on my Halifax credit card and the balance on my debit card.

At the end of the third return the garage said it had been fixed. Two days later the engine started mis-firing badly and the engine management light came on. It's been back in the garage again for 10 days so far.

I've written to the garage asking for my money back in full. If this is not forthcoming does anyone know if I could claim under section 75 of my credit card? If I can what then happens to the car?
