I don't understand why Boden is such a successful business - am I the only one who thinks their clothes are the boring stuff of Sunday supplements and they cater for the middle-aged and obese?

  • i totally agree, i think some of the little girls clothes are quite nice, but very expensive for what they are ! i think they mainly cater for brand snobs and middleclass wannabes

I don't think it's as successful as it it was. Everything used to sell out, but this year they've had loads of promotions on, and tons of stuff left in the sale. Mind you, I've not been that impressed with the quality of some of the things I've had.
  • I buy mainly mini for my girls, as the quality if usually fantastic, and if it is not, then their customer service is amazing. My youngest daughter is wearing some items I have had for 6 years, and they still look lovely. I find the ladies clothes on the whole a bit stuffy and 'too old' for my style. Some is simply a bit too 'Boden'. Sadly too, their success mean there is now too much Boden everywhere I go!

As for success, their success has gone through the roof and many items simply aren't on the sale because they sold out. Nowadays, they have American celebrities babies/kids decked out in their clothes and this is why I think their prices have crept up. Last year their profits were in excess of £66million!!!

It is quite a good sale though!

That's so funny. I'm in my 30s and a size 12. I never realised I was an obese old doll. To be honest some of it is not really me as I'm more casual than that to run around after my children but the kids stuff is great. Brilliant quality, washes well, looks great and sells on ebay afterwards.

Me too, but the stuff they sell is just so dowdy, unoriginal and quite frankly expensive for what it is.

  • I've never worn the adult stuff (not really my style), but I love the kids' stuff for my 18-month-old and six-year-old. Really bright, colourful and funky.

I'm a size 12 and in my 30s too by the way. I do think they have some nice stuff for adults but it's a bit out of my price range. I only buy for the children when the sales are on or I have promotional codes. Have been very happy with the quality of items so far. Thanks op - will check it out now!
