The ad on gumtree was false advertising tho, so i dont have any come back that way at all!!!!
I've read the Gumtree advert, it doesn't go in to much detail and I can't see any false advertising.

Are you sure the friend who checked your car over is a proper mechanic? It makes me suspicious to hear the wheel nuts and brake pads were loose... quite unusual if true... plus it was probably him that last shut that bonnet...

It looks like you have been very unlucky I'm afraid.
Who said the wheel nuts were loose. I have had a car do that to me, and you can hear and feel the wheel start to wobble when they really are loose.

i did take a friend who new a little about cars but not knows of technical stuff that garages do etc,

Seriously, checking oil is noddy stuff every motorist should know how to do especially as it has been part of the driving test for some years now. Not checking the oil when buying a car is just downright daft.
