Problem with shower hose

We have a Mira Event XS shower, it is about 5 yrs old. It works ok, but the shower hose has come off and won't go back on. The hose is chrome, and thread inside the shower unit is plastic, but it is not happening! I have made sure the washer is in place, and DH has tried too, so not just me having a moment ....
What are my options - it doesn't look like I can replace that part, do I need to replace the whole shower unit?
Any suggestions welcome
Thanks

Hi,
shower hoses are universal, any thing from Argos will fit.
Has the thread got damaged some way?
Here's a wee video for you.0 -
Thanks, the hose seems absolutely fine (we replaced it about a yr ago) - I think the thread on the unit itself is damaged, I was hoping to be able to replace that in some way...Debt free and saving :j0

From memory of showers I have had apart, the fitting that the hose screws onto is normally integral to the on/off valve body. Probably get that as a spare, but will probably be a fair chunk of the cost of a whole new unit.
Is the thread stripped, or is the first little bit of thread damaged?
Have you tried attaching the opposite end of the hose, just to make sure it isnt the hose....?
If its just the first bit, carefully file/cut the thread back into shape. If its going on, but not tightening sufficiently, you may get it to bite by putting a few turns of ptfe tape around the thread.0 -
We need to be able to remove the casing as the thread is inside, and don't have the tool to do that....Debt free and saving :j0

Hi,
seems there are 3 cover retaining screws 2 top, 1 bottom, and you should be able to gently prise off the control knobs to allow access.
Make sure electric is off before removing cover.0
