Gas Central Heating Installation Costs

Hi
I've just moved into a property where the only form of heating is expensive night storage heaters.
I've had a quote to install gas from wales and west utilities which comes in at £547 even though distance to gas main is only 6m and I'm digging my own trench!
I'm trying to work out a cost for the installation of a high efficiency combi boiler, 10 radiators and running the gas pipe from a meter at the front of the house to the boiler in the rear bedroom. I live in a 3 bed end of terrace house which has an 'extra' bedroom at the rear of the upstairs bathroom.
I'm in the Port Talbot area.
Thanks

Running a completely new pipe does come expensive, so that's probably on the cheap side. Radiators and valves are fairly cheap (Google Stelrad and see. There are others).

Thanks whitehorse, I've been on mrcentralheating.com and can get the materials for between £1400 and £1800 including an A rated combi. It's the labour side of it I'm trying to budget for. I could hang the boiler and all radiators if it was to keep the costs down but am not too keen on soldering and connecting all the pipework. I understand that the gas pipe needs to be sorted by someone who's gas safe registered.0

The 10 radiators are over 2 floors. 5 to ground floor - (1 in hall 2 in lounge, 1 in dining room, 1 in kitchen). 5 to 1st floor (1 in each of the 3 bedrooms, 1 in bathroom and 1 in box room to rear of bathroom). The boiler I've been looking at is a Glow Worm - which I beleive is mid range but you can tell me if I'm wrong. I've had cheaper Ferrolis in the past but would rather stay away from them.0

I would have a "gas safe" heating engineer provide the correct size copper gas pipe to the boiler and commission the boiler (legal requirement for gas)
To save money you could install the boiler (or most of it), run the pipes and hang the radiators... but do some research on pipe/radiator/boiler sizing. Planning an efficient central heating system isn't as straightforward as it first seems.
Use of plastic pipe & push fittings such as "speedfit" will make the job a lot easier & cheaper. However, you will need to have the 1st metre from the boiler in copper pipe.
Installing central heating can be quite disruptive while living in the house but a lot easier if you can do it before you move in
p.s ....Have you got a gas meter yet?No longer trainee

Thanks. I was looking at plastic pipework for out of sight areas such as under floor boards but would want copper if they were in view. My plan was to get the familly out of the house for a week or so, so that I can lift floor boards etc when the work is being done - that way they can stay up until the job is finished and the system is tested. I've not got the meter yet and no supply just the quote.0
