No it's not free at all, you are probably looking at several hundred pounds. Contact the DNO for your region, probably CE Electric UK or Eon.

It wont be cheap and it will be via your local distribution. It depends on if the tails need extending though as they cant just join its a relay from street.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Yeah, it's illegal to tamper with the meter, even electricians can't do it.
You'll have to phone your electricity supplier and get them to quote - I was told it would be £200 minimum regardless of where you wanted it moving to.0 -
If you want to move the meter contact Eon
If you want to move the service intake contact Norther Power Grid (formerly Yorkshire Electricity)A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Its only free for eldery or in special circumstances and then only around a meter0

The only thing free in this life is the air around you...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

If they need to relay cables it will be £1k plusDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

if you're only moving it a couple of meters then there might be enough slack in the tails to do that, but if you want to move it a couple of metres, then that will cost you.0 -

No. If it's only the meter, contact the supplier. DNO only needed if the main fuse is involved.0 -

Seeing as the OP hasn't returned to the thread, we haven't ascertained if they want just the meter, or supply head (probably) moving. Either way, I'd be calling the DNO first. I'm rarely seen a meter moved without the supply head as well, usually when walls are being removed or cupboards knocked into rooms etc.
Here in West Yorks, CE/YEDL will charge around £850 (+VAT) for supply head & meter move up to 5m, often re-cableing supply.0
