Tried the book coupons yesterday on my two favourite cashiers. Cashier 1 took two without batting an eyelid. I then asked "would you get in trouble if you take another" and he replied "not sure, total it is abit low". I was happy with the shop (had some toiletries in there aswell) and told him ill just pay.
Cashier 2 took all Tesco coupons without batting an eyelid but said "no book vouchers" then started looking over his shoulders and stuff. "Can't do this one". Mumbled some words "Sometimes works sometimes doesn't.... Try somewhere?/someone? else....". I am not sure but I think some staff may have been breifed only to take grocery coupons OR he was confusing these with the £1 world book token things (never had these myself but I know alot of staff were told not to take them).
I wonder if I can build up the confidence to use one these on ASDA self scan on something like a £10 shop. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
does anyone who uses the book token in asda tell us about it.I have never used any coupons in asda and would love to know........0

I have used these on self scan at Asda, but never managed to get a cashier to take one in Asda, no probs in Tesco. I always try one biggish one in Asda on a £10 ish shop, they are usually fine in my store.

I did a shop in Asda yesterday and was told by the cashier that they were no longer allowed to take book tokens. She did take some grocery ones for items I had not purchased. This was in Leigh, Lancs. HTH0 -
I used 4 of these vouchers (Daily Mail) today so very pleased, especially as I was combining them with other vouchers to it was great not to have to hand over a huge wad

When I tried to use the Quick Read book tokens last yr, sa in Asda said they don'e accept ANY book tokens......which is a bit annoying since they do sell books.0
