Car insurance accident removal

I lost an insurance claim about 2 years ago when i was driven into on a crossroads, other car had front end damage, mine was written off from the whole left hand side being bent (both doors had peeled back).
I recently took out temp insurance on a work vehicle and it was mentioned to me about removing the accident from my history.
I was insured 3rd party, no witnesses were declared at the scene of the accident, including the police report, but i lost the claim as i was made aware the other driver had found a witness. My insurance company have not sent me a letter to say i have a years no claims, but also haven't sent me a letter about any excess i had to pay, or the amounts so i can declare to future insurers. I had to look at the damage to the other drivers car (which looked like it had already been recently repaired due to a different coloured bonnet) and take an estimated guess using replacement parts to work out the cost to tell future insurers.
I have declared this accident for the past 2 years at a cost of around £200 with myself at fault as i was told it was decided i was at fault, but have no paperwork to say i have to do this, i am assuming so becauser i didn't recieve a years no claims certificate from my previous insurer.
The company was in administration at the time, and it took a call from the police stating the council were going to collect the car due to it being a road side hazard and crush it within 24 hours to get the insurance company to collect it!
Is there anything i can do about this claim?
I am only 21, and the accident obviously affects my insurance quite a bit (up to £400), google can not find much information due to car, accident and insurance being popular keywords, trying to find out about getting an accident removed from record is difficult.

You can't get the accident removed from the record. It will remain on record indefinitely, and you will need to declare it when you renew for as long as the insurers demand it (usually 3 or 5 years). I don't understand why you think it should be removed. In any event, even if it had been a non-fault claim, you would still have found that your premium increased.0

When i took out temporary insurance last week, i obviously declared the accident. The representative said it was strange as to why i wasn't sent a letter from my insurance company or given any information regarding repair costs and said about contacting my insurance company regarding the information0

You won't be able to get it removed though.0 -
Makes sense. Or you can use this form to find out what is held against your name.

You won't be able to get it removed though.
Thanks for this! Doing this now.0
