How to connect non scart-TV to scart-DVD.. HELP!!

Can you help? I have a good working non scart TV; but I want to connect it to a new scart DVD.

Do adapters exist that convert the TV round "RF" (i think it is called RF) to the new moden scart socket.

    if you have a video recorder you could link the aeriels that way.

    dvd (scart) -> video (scart)

    video (RF) -> TV (RF)

    does the tv have phono connections (small round connectors (yellow inside) thats a composite video connection.

    Will look at the back of the TV to see what I can see................

  • Advise on what connectors are available on dvd and tv but the video option should work fine but the phono option would give 'slightly' better picture.

    the phono connections can be at the front (inside flip down panel) on the sides, on top or round the back have a good look all round.

    dont forget to set you video recorder to av1 (av2) whatever it calls the scart connection.

    The scart socket at the back of the video says "TV (Prise Perital)" .. don't that mean that it can only be used to connect to the Tv and not to anything else like a dvd player?

    phone connection.. do you mean RF connection? Don't know how to set it to av1 or av2 .. isn't that a scart setting. My video only has one scart socket and that says "TV (Prise Perital)".

    Does your video have an RF out? If it does, try connecting up as suggested in post #2 and see if it works. Normally the scart would be used to connect to the TV but if you have RF out, you could use the scart to connect to the DVD.

    I have my DVD connected through the `phono/RCA` sockets which, on my set, are at the back and colour coded to match the DVD outputs.

    Yes my video has a RF out socket and that is connected to the TV's RF socket.
