Hi
Are you using the correct cable? What TV do you have? You may just have to buy a new cable.0 -
using correct cables, sky hd works fine through same cable0
-
Are you using an HDMI cable?
Have you changed the settings on the xbox to show HD?
What make and model is your TV?0 -
You might find that Sky and Xbox require different 'grades' of cable...my Sky box will use a cheap HD cable fine, but my Xbox wants a better one. The one it came with works fine, though.
If you've got a HD capable TV, the xbox should work in HD.0 -
Xbox out the box will be set to output to 480p, you need to go into settings then video then change this to either 720p/1080i or 1080p depending on if you have an HD Ready or Full HD television.
I dont know about the new ones but I run mine over component at 1080p and its totally fine (don't have an HDMI on mine)
Advice.... Don't be conned into buying an expensive HDMI lead but there are different standards, phone up Microsoft they will be able to help you out.0 -

Don't you mean 1080i? Never seen a component cable (or perhaps a component input on a TV) that can accept 1080p.
OP: you actually have to set your video settings before you'll see HD. Try 720p or 1080i (preferably 720p in this case) before you freak out. When a console is reset to factory settings it defaults to the lowest resolution so that every TV will be able to see the setup screen. If you have luck with 720p, try 1080p.0
