Firstly thanks for the replies. I swore once and once only which was my frustration getting the better of me. I was not threatening, so where this mentioning of calling the police comes from god only knows. Surely common sense would suggest that for someone who has only ever used Uk sites who was born and raised here to suddenly use an italian site is bizarre. I noticed on my October statement a transaction had occurred on the 3rd October. I immediately called, disputed this on the grounds of fraud, filled out the form, received a reimbursement which on the 30th November was reversed after the fraud department upheld the retailers claim against me. I don't know about said experiences with trolls but frankly I am just feeling distressed.0

Don't worry, I had 4 fraudulant transactions made on my debit card once (for £95, £96, £97 & £98!) to a company called nochex (never used them but similar to Paypal I think)
Anyway I quickly got all my money for the 4 fraudulent transactions refunded by Natwest, only for the single £95 transaction to be reversed back from my account a few weeks later. When I queried this they sent me a sales voucher which basically had my name and stated what i'd bought and they claimed this was 'proof' the transaction was made by me (er yea ok how'd you work that out??!!).
Anyway the point is they were trying to fob me off to reduce their losses. Luckily their sales voucher 'proof' they sent me had my name spelled completely wrong. When I pointed this out they quickly backed down.
Don't worry you'll get the money back, just stick to your guns. You may have to write to the financial ombudsman if they won't co-operate0 -
I'm surprised you got that response. Every time we have encountered someone like yourself where I work we have had no hesitation in phoning the police.
There is no excuse for swearing at a working person.
I enquired what i/we should do with abusive customers after i was told by a customer that they were going to take my knife (need a stanley knife in my job) to my throat.
I was told to say nothing, smile and serve ... as they pay my wages.
Not likely i'm afraid.0 -

I don't understand why you think it's bizarre ? Have you never shopped online before ? It's like saying that it's bizarre for someone born and raised in the UK to go to Italy on holiday ! Have you asked for a copy of whatever the retailer has sent your card issuer ? If you want to take this further, you need to escalate it with them, posting on the forum won't sort it out. You need to be proactive or you won't get your money back.0 -
Think yourself lucky you work for someone reasonable then.

Any employer that said that is moronic and should be told to f*ck off.
Death threats are not an acceptable part of working life. Period.urs sinserly,

It would be quite bizarre for me to suddenly purchase over 200.00 of dvds games and books from an italian online retailer. There might be some 200,000 who speak italian as their first language but most of them won't have been born in this country. That's the last I am saying on that now, clearly you are intent on just challenging me. Tanks to some of the others though and I am being proactive as whilst on the phone I insisted on speaking to the fraud department. By tomorrow they should have called me back.0

We all agree that it may be bizarre for you, but it is not bizarre for some other people, and since the bank don't know you personally, they don't know whether its bizarre for you or not, hence the ongoing investigation.
From the looks of things, the payment processor has presented evidence to that bank that you did actually make those payments. You are stating that this is incorrect, so more investigation is needed.
Have you checked your credit reports recently? (all 3 of them) You may have a bigger identity theft happening than you think.0
