Re-Parking Fine/ Bus Lane

Hi, Just thought I my write in and make people aware of council run car parks. About fives weeks ago I recieved a fine for being in the bus lane in hounslow, the only thing is I can't ever remember being in the bus lane at all. I noted the time down and sure enough I was in the area. But I am an extremely careful driver and I know for sure I did not enter any bus lane. And I have been thinking lately there are so many scams about now I wondered if they could make my car look in as bus lane with a computer, with all the technology about today and different software programs its quite possible. However I cant prove a thing so I payed £60.00. Then two weeks later I parked in a car park run by the council and it said first half hour free, well I recieved another £60 fine. I wrote to them and told them I just payed one fine and cant afford another and anyway the first half an hour is free. What I did not know, as they informed me that is you still have to display a free ticket which you get from the machine. I got off lightly but be warned I checked the sign the next day and sure enough in small printed writing it does say this. The ironic thing the traffic warden was watching me the whole time and didn't come over and warn me at all. Just interested in there money making schemes. And in the near future these are getting the power to arrest, I think there will be uproar to say the least.

You were certain you were not in the bus lane so did you look at all the picture the council used to allege the offence? If not why did you not do so before paying? After you had viewed the pics and it definitely was not you, you could have challenged the ticket. Regarding the "power of arrest" this cannot happen as all (99.99%) of council parking is under the decriminalised scheme so is a civil case.
Glad you got off the parking ticket, how well signed was the car park, if not get hold of the parking place order for that car park, see what it says about the signing and free ticket and if at fault have at them.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
As P T P said didn't you view a picture of your car in the bus lane or are you claiming they photo shopped your car into one?0
