    Any suggestions for good service.

Just bought a Volvo s70 T5 and looking for home, local and national recovery.

And also 12 month warranty's also.

Any suggestions helpful and welcome :)

Try norwich union, they use RAC or AA cant recall which, so same cover at a much lower price than going direct.

I have been with Autoaid for just under a year and they are very good. It has saved me over £100 per year when compated to my previous policy with AA. When I had a problem with my car, the local recovery firm came shortly. As it was around Christmas, I put the claim for the refund after 3 weeks although they state that it should be claimed within 2 weeks. They still sent a cheque within a week or so and recommend it to everyone I know.

  • norwich union are a complete load of crap........... long story DONT USE THEM!!!!

aitoaid ............ GREAT!!! used them twice now........ my self and my partner had our own memberships and it still worked out WAYYY cheaper.

Getting married in a couple of weeks so even more savings:)
  • Norwich union own the RAC!!!!

    i personally wont either now

Norwich left me uninsured for 20 hours! and i had to drive 134 miles with my 2year old in the car with a broken window after my car got broken into. The RAC window bit came out to the car to repair some 10 hours after reporting it to police and Norwich only to hoover it out and crash wrap a window!

    what a disgrace!
  • Another vote for Autoaid! Great service and great price. We've been with them for 2 years now and had to use them twice during that time. Both times the service we received was quick, efficient and friendly. And afterwards the refund cheque came quickly with no hassle.
  • FIRST CALL are reasonable and VERY good. Have only needed them twice in 3years but each time they were great.
Son wasn't with them, despite my advice, so he had to pay the AA over £160to join on the spot! He had left the AA because they were terrible on a previous occasion, but then he forgot to join any other service and the inevitable happened!

    Yes, I believe they do.
We have 2 cars and 1 bike covered for £32.

Also if you get your bike insurance from
    https://www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk
then you will get free breakdown and free legal cover (for ALL your vehicles).
No connection, but all my mates use them too as they are very competitive.
  • Picked up a leaflet in Halfords a couple of weeks ago advertising their car breakdown cover for £1 for 3 months, with no obligation to continue but only £32.99-£59.99 per annum if you do (depending on level). Call 0800 3161 319 quoting reference HL3M00J. Valid until 31st March 2007 (may be extended).

Fortunately, haven't had to use them yet, don't know if anyone else has had good/bad experience?

I use Autoaid too. Have been with them for two years, and had to use them for the first time last month.

Broke sown a long way from home, middle of nowhere. Called Autoaid, they took my details and contacted a local garage. Local garage turned up within about 30 minutes, and diagnosed an 'engine management issue' that could not be fixed at the roadside. They carried my car and me home to a garage near my home. Total cost over £340!

Of course I had to pay up front via credit card, and submit a claim to autoaid. Autoaid paid up by cheque within a week, no questions asked. I hadn't even received my credit card bill yet!

Excellent service, and worth ot for peace of mind whilst driving. Have just subscribed for my third year.

    Cheers,
    Don
