i'm still wondering how the vehicle was towed in the time it takes to deliver a pizza, the two truck must have been following him

Surely you've seen the videos showing what those pizza delivery guys get up to? Takes a lot longer than five minutes (so I'm told).:)

Edit: Damn! Beaten to it! Didn't see the second page!
  • I think most companies would want the employee to pay for any fines etc. It is up to the employee to make sure they display all permits and do not speed etc. I worked as a school photographer with a company van and was told all this before I started. It seems common sense to me. If your BF wasn't given the correct permit that is another matter, but dominos could also argue that he should have realised it was the wrong permit. If he definitely did display it then just contest it and you will get your money back.
  • I don't think anyone would buy that the tow truck had time to be called, arrive and lift this vehicle in the time it took to drop a Pizza order off. Seriously if it really happened like this I'm surprised Domino had not sacked him before for taking too long!
  • If he genuinely had the permit displayed go to the yard holing the vehicle and photgraph it, get it writing from the yard owner that he has not accessed the vehicle and the take the evidence toy the council office that deals with it, they will ave no argument and should release the car, there is more info on this on this site, i will find it and let you know, aslo the sneaky t**t hu got it towed might even get what he deserves from his employer.
  • regerding my last post ^^^ just go to reclaim at the top of this page and click on private parking fees dont pay! although this isnt a private parking issue it does also have ways to get out of this type of thing.
  • I drive for Ocado and although my van did`nt get towed it did get ticketed in the centre of Birmingham. I was delivering to an apartment block and parked in an area which said Access for vehicles delivering to off street premises only. This is what I was doing..

I took a photo of the sign and then gave it to my manager along with the ticket. Ocado said they would challenge the ticket. I never heard anymore about it. I`m not sure what I would do in your B/f`s case. If he fights the charge it will take some time esp with it coming up to christmas/new year. I wonder if they take a photo of the vehicle before they tow it? He would then be able to prove it had the permit displayed.
Council parking wardens photo all cars they ticket.
  • Even though they've probably got the car back by now... They wouldn't need a photo of the ticket in the window to prove it was there, the car got towed away so it would be in the impound with the ticket still clearly on display. So when they go to get the car they can just point to it.
