Boiler controller stuck

Hi,
My heating controller - Honeywell 9400T - is locked up. It has been showing the same time for 24 hours, and no matter what I press or where the slider is, nothing changes it. Fortunately it's "on" so I can control the heating with the thermostat for now. Turning the power off to it doesn't reset the clock or anything else other than turning the heating off.
It won't go into installer mode either.
I guess I need to stop the power then remove the panel from the wall and drop the battery out?
Any tips for me?
thanks

I would not expect it to stop, dropping the battery out is the next thing to try. If that does not restart it, I would say it is terminally broken.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. replace battery
press reset button with a biro pen
clean the contacts
or replace
i prefer horstman mechanical ones
or any one with a dial , danfoss ect ect0 -
Thanks guys - Karl I am guessing your answer about a reset button was a generic one, as I can't see any mention of a reset button in any installation or user guide. Ta0

Oh dear - I have it in my hand and there is no battery - just a hi-cap capacitor. Will have to be swapped - it's only a few months old too. Maybe I'll go for one of those 4 horstman of the apocalypse0

Your programmer does have a reset built in. As per usual ignore Karl-123.
Look in your installer instruction. You have to enter the installer set up parameters section.
You need parameter 8 and set it to '1'0 -
HI gas4you. The problem is that none of the buttons are working therefore I can't get to the installer mode.......catch-22 or catch-5400C in fact. Am going to get it swapped.
thanks for the suggestion0
