Should i try elsewhere?

Options
I recently applied for the halifax one card and was declined. I don't know whether to try applying with another company for a 0% card, maybe egg, mint or tesco or whether I should just leave it for now. I'm not sure what my credit is like although I moved in october so this may have something to do with it? I currently have cards with sainsburys, lloydstsb and capital one and a flexible loan with cahoot, and I've never missed a payment or anything. I'm looking for a 0% card so that I can pay for some of the wedding things on it and take a few months to pay it back without paying interest.

Worth getting hold of your credit report from experian or equifax or both.

The move may have something to do with it, particularly if you havn't got yourself on the electoral roll at your new place yet.

Probably wouldn't hurt to try one more application. I'd suggest either Egg or MBNA to give you a good 0% deal and they are more generous than most with credit limits.

would egg give me a decision straight away if I apply online? Also, do they do transfers to pay off loans?

I'd check your credit rating first...

Are you on the electoral roll?

Your new address might be the problem if the last occupants were 'scuffers' and didn't pay off loans?

Also card companies are a bit funny if you haven't been at the same address for 3 years (the ask for the old address)?
