Is there any reason why this cannot be done? There's one I'm interested in on Ebay, that could be a steal.
It's electric so no worry about gas pipes etc.
Many thanks

they need to be mounted in a carcass, but they can be picked up cheap and that will work.0

So there's no way it could be used just "as is"? Do you have a rough idea of cost of carcass? I'm on a very tight budget so looking to achieve a working cooker as cheaply as possible.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break

you can use them as is, but safety wise it would be a big no no.
surely you can make some sort of housing? a plywood box?Get some gorm.0 -
I guess I could cobble something together or look out for a casualty corner jobbie in the after Xmas sales. I just know my tendancy to get the thing in and then use it and do nothing about the housing unit. However, if it's a real safety issue, I do have a "tame" carpenter who may be able to help me.
Thanks Ormus - you've been very helpful with various questions I've had recently and I'm very grateful.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break

A single oven housing in B&Q is £51 and you need a fascia for it, starting at £7. So effectively you could get a housing for £58...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
