Best cancellation policys for home insurance?

Hi,

My insurer (endsleigh) says they don't insure for less than 12 months and charge £50 to cancel - the reason I might want to cancel is I may go on secondment to France for one year part way through my policy.

I wonder if anyone knows if this fee is unusually high or is typical? Do other insurers do home contents for periods less than 12 months?

Try Lloyds TSB who let you cancel without penalty with 14 days notice. (Don't know how competitive they are)
