When you start your netbook normaly how far does it go before it "hangs" ie. as far as the windows splash screen or as far as your desktop before it hangs?
Have you installed/uninstalled or updated any software just before the problem?
You mentioned you thought it might be a malware problem in one of your posts, have you had any malware/virus problems recently?
If so what antivirus/malware programmes do you have installed?0 -

I think the option to "Add/Remove snap in..." is in the file menu... Actually, I think you can start the MMC with the Event Log snap-in already in place by running the command eventvwr. How much space do I need to clear on my 2GB memory card for it to run?
I've downloaded and untarred the file and it still only seems to be around 200MB. Personally I'd delete everything on the card before trying to install Slax on it, but that probably isn't necessary.0 -
The American Megatrends page flashes too briefly to read, but I have found this elsewhere on the system: ACPI bios revision 0904, core version 0904, Build Date 12 Aug 2010, EC firmware version EPCD-044Yes and yes.
Have run chkdsk. It says it has verified files, indexes and security descriptors and also USN journal. Didn't seem to display any errors before it suddenly disappeared.0 -

There have been two BIOS updates since yours.
There's always the possibility of a clean install/Factory Restore, but have you tried a System Restore to before the problem began?0
