    who cares??

if its cheap i wouldnt care if satan himself told me
  • I have been called a lot of things in my time but never a "stooge"!
I posted the link to the forum so that skeptics could check out who they may be buying from and as proof that it is not some fly by night scammer. I am by no means an active forum member having made less than ten posts in the last year or so.
I think most members of MSE are intelligent enough to know a good deal regardless of the so called hype.
I often see employees posting in the Argos thread, does that make deals less attractive?

I too will vouch for Shop NEO being a reputable buisness.
Theres a shop in Stoke as already mentioned, I remember when the owner decided to move to the States full time and even offered the shop managment job via his forums.

I would have no worries about buying from there.

ps.... he's selling usb memmory sticks bloody dirt cheap

For those who have been into game console stuff would know they have been around for quite some time - well, that's how I bought stuff from them anyway.

They are reputable and cheap. If in any doubt, visit the DF forum and you'll see he has his followers and a lot of members have been around for years.

You should never sign up with a retailer you don't know without doing a few careful checks via the internet. Carelessly handing over credit card details is why the internet has such a bad reputation.

It's like what Little John said. This company made me suspicious when the DVD offer appeared... I did a quick search on Google and the newsgroups, there was virtually no third-party comments on this service except people saying that the discs they were selling are probably fake - the forum should be discounted as a source since it is strongly linked to the service. If a website has been running for years then there should be a lot of recommendations on third party websites from customers giving others advice.

Whilst checking out the DVD offer I noticed most of the positive comments about the service were coming from MSE members with low post counts. This thread has people in their hundreds, so that's a better sign.

The registration requires a DOB which is odd. The credit card processing is handled offline so you should completely trust the retailer since they physically hold your details and could use them at any time. Normally internet credit card processing is done remotely through a trusted processor (where you leave the site for a short period) or via a web server with all details encrypted then processed online ASAP.

I'm not saying this retailer is bad or anything. Just the signs suggest they are very new and untested.

I suggest you go visit their shop and forums for a while before making statments like that.

You dont have to have a high post count to be an established member !!!!!!, a lot of people lurk / browse and only post when its relevant.
I have been a member over at digital forums for a number of years and I have seen the owner offer some tremendous bargains all of which get delivered, not like some of the offers you see here from time to time.
Also try searching for MSE over there, I think you will find it quoted a fair amount in the Biggy7 forum.

Thing about digital forums is, its not based purely on getting a bargain or something for free - its a comunity that helps each other out and have a laugh and joke.
The owner certainly isn't out to rip anyone off.

I'm not sure anyone is doubting that the company employs friendly staff and is capable of delivering the correct goods when ordered. What's at issue is the possibility that they are asking 'stooges' to 'big them up' on forums, have advertised their own deals surreptitiously elsewhere (proven on above link ?) and the language of the OP here being very marketing-hype-esque on the three occasions he has posted deals about this company.

When the Infinity disc offer was on, it got posted over at Digital Forums and the boss man didn't want his potential trade going elsewhere so he beat the offer at a loss to himself.

...for the record I am in no way associated with Digital Forums other than I browse / post there occasionaly.

I am only providing some advice for members who seem to be diving in without thinking about the repercussions. Like I say, they may be a very good retailer, but their online presence seems too new to judge via research. Please don't take my advice personally and there was no need to swear at me. :)
