Wireless doorbell working intermittently

Ex installed a wireless doorbell and it's never worked properly. It doesn't always ring, so people tap on the front door glass. However, the original front door is between the hall and porch, so you can't hear them tapping. I've missed a couple of deliveries last week as I never heard them at the door
If I moved the receiver box, is it likely to work better? Here's a diagram showing where it is:

I thought if I put the box in the other corner it might work better as the two pieces are in sight of each other? Just thought I'd ask first as he's superglued the box to the wall, so it'll be a right pig to get off!
Batteries definitely work ok as I've put fresh ones in.

Here I go again on my own....

A few questions:
What is the make and model of the doorbell?
Are you able to change the channel (on both the push button and receiver) - it may be interfering with something else?
Which batteries did you install (make and type)?
I have had intermittent problems and found that it was either due to the type of batteries in the doorbell or not making proper contact.
At some point you may need to move the receiver to determine if it is the location. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
It's a Byron doorbell but I'm not sure of the model number.
I'll have a look at settings and batteries tomorrow as it's dark outside and my daughter is in bed now. My dogs go mental when the bell rings and will wake her! Here I go again on my own....0
